Shakti: Tribal Instinct

Event | February 8, 2009 | Posted by Basilisk

Shakti Collective and Tribal Vision Records present a one-of-a-kind event in the continent, the first ever Tribal Vison label party in North America!!!
Tribal Vision records is a prominant label in the progressive world. It has released countless albums and compilations, including recent POTS Album “Creating Social Success,” Meller’s “Rockable,” and the recent successfull compilation, “Street Art” which includes tracks by D-Nox, Jaia, Sonify and other significant progressive acts.
On this date we will celebrate a launch of a P.O.T.S. “Social Success Remixes” CD, which will be another Tribal Vision bestseller!

Featuring artists:

PRISONERS OF THE SUN (P.O.T.S) (Tribal Vision, Germany) ~ LIVE!

Thomas Wilhelmy and Achim Lutje met by chance in the late 90s in a studio in Cologne, Germany. They were pretty sure that they have found each other’s sonic mirror – the result was a blissfull fusion that formed the basis for their project, P.O.T.S. The eventual music was a dark and trancy mixture of infinite and fast basslines under the attack of cruel tones. Their moody sounds soon attracted the eyes and the ears of Sunset label on which POTS had their 1st release in 2000. From then on they turned their leitmotiv of what they called “scientific darkness” into a worldwide success. POTS has toured the United States, the EU and even South America. A huge number of successfull releases followed on labels such as Flow Records, Spiral Trax, Iboga, Manta and Plastik Park. After their first album, “Are You Scientific Enough?” POTS worked together in different projects like Groove Express and designed sounds for different multimedia productions. Influences have come from far and wide, in many ways, shapes and forms – guaranteed each track was a long time spent in the studio. Their brand new album, “creating social success” was released on Tribal Vision Records in November 2005, getting an amazing feedback from both DJs and listeners worldwide.

Special DJ Set by:

DJ SLATER (Tribal Vision Records, Czech Republic)

Michal Smetana aka Slater, is Tribal Vision Records’ label manager, A&R, and DJ representative. Since 1999, Slater has already played at many festivals and parties across the globe, including events in Switzerland, Portugal, Japan, France, Germany, Austria, Poland, Chile, Croatia and Slovakia. His style is ranging from electro – influenced progressive house beats to energetic progressive trance, always including a lot of fresh, new stuff from label related artists to his DJ sets. Occassionally he is performing together with live percussions with members of the “U-Prag” band. He is also the resident of a popular Prague underground club, “Cross”.
Throughout the world Slater’s sets have moved the dancefloors. For the first time, he will perform here in Toronto.
