10 :: Dynamid vs Xolay Ax - Psy Cut Finger (8:04)

The debut offering from the Warsaw-based No Comment Records is a ripping CD-length compilation packed with night-time blasters and full-on dance floor treats. This is very much a release designed for fans of the hard and gritty underground “darkpsy” strain of psychedelic trance. Throbbing bass lines, scratchy effects, and brooding atmospheres reign supreme, but there are moments where this compilation defies its own conventions in order to surprise the listener. If you enjoy the hard and heavy sound of Parasense-derived psytrance, check out No Comment Volume 1.

Nostalgic Anthems Reworked by Hujaboy and TechTonic

Journal | November 20, 2007 | Updated: November 2, 2009 | Posted by Basilisk

Here’s a tip: Hujaboy and TechTonic recently leaked a pair of remixes that might be of interest to anyone with a fondness for mid-nineties “electronica” (as it was marketed back then) and an active appreciation of modern full-on psytrance. Hujaboy, as most readers may know, is one of the top producers working in Israel these days–just check out his latest album, Black Belt. TechTonic, on the other hand, is a newcomer from Tel Aviv. Together they have taken on two memorable anthems from the good old days: Orbital’s Remind and Setting Sun by the Chemical Brothers. Both have been retooled as effective dance floor hits in the 140-142 BPM range; don’t expect anything too deep and sophisticated! Hujaboy and TechTonic provided this disclaimer with their initial post: “Please take note that both tracks were not made for commercial use of any kind. They are just for fun and listening at home.” If you’re keen on checking out these cover versions they are available in WAV format; download them here.

We welcome a legendary figure for New Years, who brings his dark, hypnotic and deep beats to our psychedelic festivities. Patrick Sonderegger made waves up one half of the legendary minimal psytrance project Paste He soon became influenced by a deeper sound and started releasing tracks under the moniker La Baaz with Flow Records and playing around the world and releasing his album Track Scroll on Submachine Records. In summer 2004 DJ La Baaz got booked in legendary underground club Spider Galaxy in Zürich where he played his famous sets every month. with recent and upcoming releases on Soultribe, Echoes, Plusquam and Coldgroove Records. Sound Field – Afro-Dust
01 :: Afro-Dust (Bundle 1&2) (11:59)
02 :: Native Funk Association (7:58)

Following up on the release of the Ol’biz EP, Andy Yakovlev returns with another free single on his own netlabel, N.Division Media. Attributed to Sound Field, the Afro-Dust EP features two powerful examples of high octane tribal trance. Heavy drums and a strong driving groove provide each thematic exploration with considerable energy. Playful melodies and themed samples emphasize the tribal focus of each piece. If you like tribal beats, don’t miss this EP!
