The second release from Ultiva Records focuses on the dark and heavy sound of night-time psychedelic trance. Compiled by Opsy and Nino (KannibaL HolocausT), Goblins Gathering features ten scorching tunes harvested from established acts as well as several new projects. Para Halu, Ocelot, and Blisargon Demogorgon should be known to all fans of the darkpsy style, while the Argentinian projects Frantic Noise and Collapse are sure to appeal to those who already dig Megalopsy. From the newcomers, Pinganeda’s almost Sensient-like hardness is likely to impress, and Dark Elf (first heard on 06.06.06) elaborates on his increasingly distinct approach with Hot Blood. Anyone with a taste for dark psychedelic trance should give this one a spin!

Very good release, indeed. Glad to see a track by Noized. As an overall, I greatly appreciate the sonic atmospheres in this release that do paint the picture, this is the kind of stuff I was hoping for, something that’s not just hard.
