Zealotry Music is a new organization founded by the alternative arts group CrackWhoreModels to promote the Danish chill-out scene. Their first release is Amber: Gold Of The North, an exotic blend of organic downtempo with a pinch of deep psychedelic trance. The tone is generally moody and mysterious–strange resinous resonances seem to course through much of the material. Peel back the sticky membrane and give it a spin–you might find yourself encapsulated by Amber: Gold Of The North.

Saikosounds Vinyl Sale

Journal | February 6, 2008 | Updated: August 10, 2008 | Posted by Basilisk

Gramophone

Is anyone out there still buying psytrance on vinyl? Saikosounds has more than a hundred records on sale for a buck or two–check out the list and get your order in before the week is out!

Despite the fact that very few DJs persist in employing vinyl in a performance context, I regularly hear from visitors interested in building an authentic record collection. Well, here is your chance to snatch up a fat stack of wax for very little cash. Admittedly the list is cluttered with many throwaway releases no one would want to touch… but there are several gems in the lot, especially if your taste leans toward the progressive side! I would heartily recommend anything released on Iboga or Tribal Vision, the Charasmatix EP (my review), anything by Human Blue (my review of Essence), the Tarsis sampler (see my review of the full album), God Save The Machine (the best TIP World compilation in ages), Xerox & Illumination’s XI EP, and the Trimatic record with Kyoto if you’re an old Son Kite fan.

Remember: the sale is over when the week is out!
