Psylent Buddhi has just released a collection of older material on last.fm entitled, fittingly, 1997 to 2003. Some of these tracks will be familiar to visitors who have been coming back to Ektoplazm for many years now–Psylent Buddhi was one of the first artists I ever promoted on the site–and others might ring a bell for those who browsed traxinspace.com back in the day. These songs were written with “an eclectic combination of Impulse Tracker, Rebirth, Dreamstation and Acid,” and the style is generally old school Goa and acid trance with a few downtempo productions thrown into the mix.

Unfortunately, the master files for most of these old tracks were lost long ago, and the sound quality of some of these songs has suffered as a result. Psylent Buddhi writes a little more about in this blog entry. It is still worth a listen, particularly if you are into the old school sound or happen to remember Psylent Buddhi’s productions from back in the day.
