Ektoplazm is the world’s #1 source for free and legal psychedelic trance downloads. Founded in 2001 by DJ Basilisk, Ektoplazm has become as a highly successful free music portal and netlabel family. Initially chartered to spread awareness of psytrance culture throughout Canada and the United States, Ektoplazm now has a global presence with fans distributed all around the world.

DJ Basilisk established the Ektoplazm netlabel in 2008 to promote unconventional talent with a professional approach to free music. Every Ektoplazm release is available for free download in MP3, FLAC, and WAV format–and we also offer “on demand” CD versions for anyone who wishes to purchase traditional physical media. This unique approach maximizes the promotional reach of our releases and liberates our listeners from industry-standard guilt trips about music piracy. I’ve been following Ektoplazm for over a year now and I’m still impressed. The site is solid as a rock; it provides everything you need (and more) in a perfectly clear and intuitive way. And the label’s even better. With its progressive and open set-up it provides a diverse array of quality psytrance, always accompanied by great album covers. The recent coming of downtempo chillness only adds to that. So, what I wanted to say, thanks for the great music and keep up the spirit!
