Basilisk is the founder of the Ektoplazm netlabel group and free music portal, one of the world’s top online destinations for psychedelic trance, techno, and downtempo. With more than a decade of experience behind the decks Basilisk is also an accomplished DJ and a rising star on the global stage. Much of his success can be attributed to his tireless work ethic and productive drive; aside from DJing, Basilisk also manages three record labels, develops and maintains the Ektoplazm web site, designs cover art for numerous releases, and champions the cause of Creative Commons licenses and new music strategies for the 21st century.
DJ Bio
Basilisk spins an eclectic variety of styles covering all points of the psychedelic trance and techno spectrum. Every performance is custom-built to work with the theme of the event and the flow of the night. Presently his musical interests have become focused on the emerging fusion of minimal techno, progressive house, and psytrance, a deep and dirty blend of cutting edge electronic music elements and archetypes that will thrill any audience.
Depending on the nature of the event Basilisk is also known for breaking into blistering hard darkpsy, forest music, the more sophisticated side of full-on, and the cold and mechanical sound of techtrance. Classic mid-nineties Goa trance sets are also available on special request.
Over the years DJ Basilisk has performed more than 250 gigs since 2001 including performances at festivals such as Shambhala (2010, upcoming), Eclipse (2009), Harvest (2005/2006/2009), Entheos (2007/2008/2009/2010), Om (2002/2004), Sacred Earth (2009), All Stars (2009), Teknival, and WEMF (2003).

I want to express my appreciation for the amount of positive energy I have received from your site. Thanks to it I have been introduced to a lot of good music. Good and different music. I was glad to find out that (not surprisingly) there is so much different psytrance out there.
I can only hope that psy underground continues to grow here in Canada and positive waves of change will be emitted to and from around the world.
Basilisk’s solid mixing counterbalances his superb taste in music that’s backed by a wicked arsenal of diverse sounds – which makes him one of the best local DJ’s this side of the sun… not to mension beautiful creativity that gets expressed by colourful album covers and THIS EPIC SITE!!
If you’re not on the Basilisk-Ban-Wagon yet, i must ask, WHY THE BLEEP NOT?!?!
