This set was recorded live at Spacecamp Psyfari in Iowa, USA, on the morning of August 24th, 2014, featuring 100% Creative Commons-licensed music from Ektoplazm. I began at sunrise, transitioning from a night of hard and heavy hi-tech into full-on psychedelic morning trance by the very end, touching on darkpsy, forest, twilight, new school Goa trance, and a hint of Suomi-style madness along the way. As always this set was completely unscripted, a product of the moment. I let intuition be my guide and this adventurous romp through the many styles of upbeat psytrance is the result! Quantum Spores is an otherworldly collection of tunes compiled for Quantum Satis Records, the organization behind the ecological music festival Veshy Mokh (Prophetic Moss). The purpose of the release is to capture the twisted spirit of the festival and spread it far beyond the northern lands the same way moss proliferates, as spores blown on the wind. The listener is invited to travel together with nature from night into morning as the dreamlike vibrations of the moss lead the way. Many thanks to all who have contributed to Gaggalacka: A Psychedelic Playground and hence to a great ending to the summer of 2012 in Thuringia, in the middle of Germany. To keep the memory fresh, the Gaggalacka family and Purple Hexagon Records present a collection of nine psytrance tracks and three downbeat tunes reflecting the progression of sound at the festival from Saturday afternoon to Sunday morning. This release features live acts who have performed at the event over the last few years as well as three newcomers: Viper (UK), Twisted Nature (Malta), and Nocti Luca (Germany).
