Please note that these selections are always subject to change. It has been tough to whittle down the selections on some years (1997 in particular) whereas other years leave me wondering if I should even bother to pick out five. Keep that in mind before you go blasting my choices…

Hell yeah to Prometheus!!! Man… still waiting to hear one of his tracks at a party… Someone needs to open a set with track #1 from Corridor of Mirrors. Maybe you!!!
2004? Strange atractions Over Son kite colours??? :(
Colours is a nice album but it’s never really struck me the way it has with most listeners. Strange Attractors, on the other hand, is one of those “listen anytime” sort of albums that always does the trick.
beautifol seleccion of musica
A lovely selection through the years Basilisk; nice one. One might quibble over this or that selection, and of course each would have his/her own choices, but this is as good as any. What about the second Atmos album though? Surely this is an absolute trance classic alongside the first one? I was surprised and delighted to see Hujaboy’s “Party Animals” make it on the list. Dr G ~*~
No Parasense at alll !? or Bonky… that’ silly
hey whad up ppl does anyony know of any site where i can download full on psy tracks.Cheers BooooooM
^^ Psydropz: ROFL
dude, you’re, like, on THAT site already :)
No shady links please! Use Google for all your pirating needs.
Spiral Empire (2008) ?, From artist Taylor Smith (Aka Androcell); has been elected as the best Dub, Downtempo albim this year so far,
Braincell last album 2008, is also worth this selection
cheers
Just wanted to drop in and reiterate just how much appreciation I have for this site, and the content here.
Really well done my friend. Selections in a section like this could be debated all day, but what is not up
for discussion is that this is a great site (best on the web IMO) and you are a true positive force out there
working for the good of the psytribe worldwide. Thanks for everything.
2004 Strange Attractors is more prominant than Son Kite Colours, because even though they both merge psytrance and progressive, Freq’s album was a hit all over the festival scene and shot him to fame instantly. As a debut release, you can’k ask for more. Much like OTT’s Blumenkraft. Son Kite had been around, but was nothing spectacularly new or risky.
want to echo others on here in saying how much i dig what you are doing here – the future is for sharing – top human energy to you all xx
Fragletrollet album +1 For 2009
Great work on everything you do. The site, the free music…all of it is an awesome resource. I visit often.
I know I am in the minority, but I cannot see what is appealing about KoxBox. Sure, they have had some rocking goa tracks, but I can never make it through any of their albums.
Great list!!
I couldn’t agree more on a lot of the choices and you remind me on a lot more.
Just got to play some of them right now and will have to check on a lot that I never listened. I totally trust your taste now so will have to get them somehow :D
This is such an essential page for anyone that’s into Psytrance.
All the classics are represented. Alexander, you definitely know your stuff.
Great to see Cosma – Nonstop in there. A true candidate for the Psy Hall of Fame! :)
Don’t forget Ace Ventura for 2007! Surely it fits into this category???
What happened to Space Cat and X-dream?
Updated 2009 with new selections. Voodeux is probably a big surprise for most!
so please pay attention for 2010 list like what you do on the others.tnx basilisk
REALLY AWSOME!!!
thanx for introducing me to jaia – mai mai !!!
Man, man, man….you are a Godsend, Basilisk! This is just amazing…great great work! Keep it up, my brother!
tnx. for the list, f a n t a s t i c c c …!
shpongle & vibrasphere …woauuuuuuuuu
Thankyou man – keep Psy alive! Any chance of a 2010 entry? Keep up the good work for the faithful out there please :)
@ Acidfiend,
I think the second 2009 entry is a typo. It should be 2010.
One recommendation for CBL – Interloper :)
Hello!
Highly useful list here. I hope you don’t mind me importing it on RateYourMusic.com? With proper credits ‘fcors. We don’t have many psytrance aficionados, but I’m hoping to get more around :)

Wow ! This selection mostly comprises of Twisted Artists like Simon Posford & Raja Ram; no disrepect though. Personally i admire both & see them as one of the significant contributors to the Genre but one can virtually find all the albums from Hallucinogen & Shpongle.
I mean California Sunshine is completely missing from the Scene? Other Greats like Boris Blenn & Oli Wisdom also have been active since the 90′s & have major hits plus massive following !
Anyways, i do realise it’s not easy to create a list from the whole scene,it’s been since 20 long years, this year marks the completion of two decades of PsyTrance :D
(P.S. The Freq Debut Album is a pure gEm, Sonkite doesn’t match up & like you said it can can be heard anytime anywhere just like Gosub 20. Also, there is another Prominent act with similar style IMHO is an Israeli act called AKD (After Kick Development) their 2nd Album called Pogressing is something out there!)
Thnx!
Bro nothing else to say then expressing full gratitude for your work, keep on, what you are doing is amazing!!!!!!! boooom
