Harvest 2007

Autumn Equinox Arts and Music Celebration
September 22nd & 23rd, 2007
harvestfestival.org

Come celebrate the colours, sounds and tastes of our beautiful Canadian fall season at the annual Harvest Festival. Kiss summer good-bye, celebrate by the fire, on the dance floor and under the stars at Midlothian Castle, the 310 acre sculpted home of Peter Camani and his 84 massive sculptures.

For 2007 we decided it’s time to change locations and what a great decision it was, as the most perfectly unimagineable venue literally found us and has catapulted Harvest Festival far into the unbelievable.

Join us on the inspiring artist and teacher Peter Camani’s rolling Midlothian Castle grounds and celebrate among the huge Screaming heads sculptures made infamous in the VisionTV documentary Shrines. It’s a sculpture farm beyond the realm of common sense, where some 20 foot heads graze the landscape instead of sheep, there’s a magic spirit forest where sculpted horses gallop up from the ground beside the pond under the northern lights and a universe full of stars.

The land is 310 acres of flowing hills and valleys in cottage country encompassing 84 massive concrete sculptures, 4 ponds including the beavers, a castle home complete with turrets and gargoyles, farm birds like white pigeons, peacocks and geese wandering about, and from the air all the natural elements of the land linked to form the aerial shape of a 2km long dragon. You can walk the forest paths that form the dragon’s ribs, and then celebrate beside the massive fires lit in the dragon’s eyes.

The festival comes alive with 3 music stages ( techno / house, psytrance / progressive and the downtempo pyramid ) an expanded Kitchen with fresh harvest soup, and an expanded Harvest Lunacy Cabaret by the Zero Gravity Circus.

We are super excited for this years gathering and look forward to you joining us early Saturday afternoon Sept. 22nd and take part in all the amazing things that make up Harvest festival.

Great job on organizing this event! With your strategic line-up, you’ve even figured out how to keep “Blah” kind of people away! Cheers!

great! no blah people means more parking/less traffic for the rest of us, who know a good thing when we see it. LESS THAN A WEEK NOW!
