Shakti: Total Threshold

(EventsToronto) Event Date: September 9, 2006 / Details Posted: September 9th, 2006 :: 433 views

Shakti Collective once again celebrates the magic of the fall season and the approach of our 2nd anniversary. Therefore, we decided to put another special event.

Lineup:

N.A.S.A (Iboga Records/Tribal Vision, Denmark) ~ LIVE!

Mikkel Rasmussen from Denmark experimented with different kind of musical instruments in the past until he finally approached psychedelic music, as he considers himself as dynamic in his music as the scene in itself. As he progressed, he approached his favourite feeling – the progressive and deep reaching music. His music exposes straight basslines and flashy strange psychedelic fx that deports you to another stage of truth and enlightenment.

Well-known as one part of “The Gnome Effect” project, he has started his solo appearence as “NASA” with good ressonance, several releases on various labels including Iboga Records, and great feedback from the dancefloors around the globe.

NASA’s first album is in the planning, and it will be his very first appearance in North America!

Prosect/Sonify (Tribal Vision Records, Israel) ~ SPECIAL BIRTHDAY DJ SET

The man who stands behind the ProSect project is Andy Yakovlev, born 1983 in Ukraine. He was about 10 when he moved to Israel, where he’s still based until now.

Andy got connected to electronic genres since his early childhood, amazed by the wide variety of the possibilities and ideas in this kind of music. Basically Andy started making music under the ProSect name at the end of 1999, but at the early rise of it music was made for fun and he didn’t noticed that he’s falling under the spell of creation. After some years he took things more seriously and back to the craft with more energies, the music became part of his life.

ProSect’s aim is to explore progressive and innovative sounds. Through an uncompromising mix of experimentation and self-expression, Andy’s music draws from a wide range of genres to create a new and futuristic sound.

ProSect’s music is light and energetic, soaring through psychedelic and progressive soundscapes with an intelligent blend of electronic rhythms and melodies.
