Here is a live recording of my set at Harvest Festival 2006! Naturally it isn’t as polished as my studio mixes, but it sounds good enough to send around. As I was opening the trance tent at 9:00 PM, the intent behind this performance was to get the night started right, beginning with an old favourite from 1992. From there I dig into progressive trance and tribal house territory, keeping it all fairly low-key. The final half hour picks up the pace, taking the crowd on an electro-influenced rollercoaster ride designed to get everyone pumped and psyched for a full night of dancing and celebration. Enjoy!

First off is a dark psytrance party later today, which is a Friday the 13th. In October, as it happens. Tomorrow, Saturday the 14th, promises the last regional outdoor gathering of 2006, Burning Lotus. There will have to be a lot of burning, too, as the temperature is expected to dip into the thirties that night. In the brisk spirit of the season, here is a Harvest mix from up north, where Basilisk is presumably no stranger to the cold. In his own words: I dig into progressive trance and tribal house territory, keeping it all fairly low-key. Alright, it’s freaking tight. The mix from Vagua to Tetraktys… wikid long transfer, you held it through he breakdown without going out, and the notes from Vagua go perfectly with the melody in the Tetraktys track. Quite a big step up in energy, but I am sure it woke people up!
Your mixing and levels are spot on, mixes are in key, transfers smooth or punchy, but all sounding awesome. I would have loved to have been there for this set because I would have danced my ass off.
My only criticisms would be that the POTS track is pretty quiet, and that the Ticon track drops out abruptly, both of those being pretty minor. It’s a tad too electro for me at the end, but that is totally subjective.
And the fact that it is live… props to you big time.

When the first track started, I thought I recognized it. Blow and behold, the opening track to the film hackers, one of my faves. It wasn’t long before I realised this had to be one of my favourite mixs ever!
