That Trevor McGregor tune is something else… balls-to-the-wall trippy. That Simple Robot remix is ear-sex wrapped in techno beats.
New Excizen & Rezolut tunes. Repetitive and grinding in a good way. The stuff that drills into your scalp. Smooth and crunchy, clean and gritty at the same time. Exemplary specimens of the 2011 psychedelic techno sound.
Enjoying the Point track; it’s got this urgent, driving mood. Dig the percussion.
Breed: solid. Nice pads. Kemonoid: more than solid. That warping bassline cinches the deal, for me.
Quite a few of the tracks on Digital Family Vol3 are inspired by breakbeat sensibilities (electro, hip-hop, etc.), a combination with a fresh attitude. If you like this album, definitely check out Alic’s SoundCloud page with DJ mixes. You can just feel their touch throughout this whole compilation.
Overall: very enjoyable compilation. Prime fodder for psytechno-jockeys like me. A benchmark against which other, non-free releases this year are going to be measured. Keep on truckin’, guys. \m/
