Etnoscope is a legendary Swedish tribal trance project founded in the year 2000 by Martin Colin, Rasmus Alanne, and Ludvig Engelbert. Their debut album Drums From The Dawn Of Time was originally released on Digital Structures in 2003 to great critical acclaim. Harnessing the universal power of the drum, one of humankind’s most ancient instrument, Etnoscope has created a timeless classic of progressive psytrance. Organic rhythms, evocative vocals, and highly stylized synth-work combine to manifest a primal trance-dance ritual that transcends the boundaries of time and space. Featuring vocals by Carola Szücs, Lotta Hedberg, and Lisbet A. Lanne as well as didgeridoo by Linus Zättervall.

Not only is Sneaky Drums a fantastic track in and of itself (love the way it changes itself around like a Transformer, mid-track), but the whole album is just fantastic. I hadn’t heard it when it first came out, only now (2010) when rereleased here on ektoplazm, and wow. Must have played this album eight or nine times on the playa this year at Burning Man in our camp. Thank you!!

I usually stay away from releases as full on as this but this album is fantastic.
King Size Rizzler is the album highlight, its ridiculous!!

  • Tachs says:

    yeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • Progus says:

    Qula is a brilliant !

  • Joe says:

Superb! Everything but the hidden track (track 11). Sorry, but track 11 was like putting dog-shit on the top of a birthday-cake. Such a great album, and then you finalize it with that crap. The reason is i prefer to have full albums with 100% qualified tracks. So I re-evaluated the album and decided it was not in my liking. Somehow all tracks in an album touches each other.

  • David says:

Simply amazing! Love the combination of the tribal sound and psy trance. 5/5
