Open Tribe – Between The Kicks

Open Tribe – Between The Kicks
01 - Dread Dean - Yajamahe (Open Tribe Remix) (145 BPM)
02 - Open Tribe - Madness (147 BPM)
03 - Open Tribe - Monaragala (147 BPM)
04 - Open Tribe - Simple Formula (147 BPM)

Vienna-based producer Open Tribe returns to Ektoplazm with his second release, Between The Kicks. In cooperation with Monkey Business Records from Bavaria he presents four tracks ranging from 145–147 BPM. Starting out with an Indian mantra and finishing on a technoid tip, this release is a journey through a wide variety of influences and ideas. Though sticking to his roots of an organic and natural soundscape Open Tribe also takes a step forward into faster and deeper dimensions without losing the daytime attitude in some of his productions. This time his release is also available on Bandcamp (where you are welcome to show some support for the artist). Get ready for some madness and join the Open Tribe! Mastering by Open Tribe with artwork by Luna Samea.

  • hi! Los dos últimos temas me parecieron complejos y especiales ( Monaragala y Simple Formula ). Los demás fueron bastante sencillos.

Good album. It’s got some quirky gritty vibes, some punchy in your face sounds, and it takes you down a road through the woods with the unexpected lurking around every tree. Different sounding but still very good. Nice work on this!

  • Bill says:

    Wow, “Monaragala” is something special!

  • AlexB says:

Love what you’re doing, from Subsdance to this new release ! Keep up the good vibes !

It’s well produced but a bit too simple/skeletal I think. The synth riff from Prodigy “Breathe” popping up 100 times in “Madness” was a bit distracting. Yes, it sounds like psytrance, but that’s no reason to use it verbatim in your song, especially if it’s not billed as a remix.

To me the best track is the last one “Simple Formula”

All in all, stuff I wouldn’t mind dancing to at a party, but won’t be spinning myself.

    3/5
