Vertigo Records is moving into the next decade of spinning around the planet, sharing psychoactive sounds all around. As part of this celebration we have decided to put together and share with our fans and the global psychedelic community another edition of our warmly accepted, free remix compilation series that began here. ReVertigo 2 contains remixes of the scene’s pioneering artists Juno Reactor and Eat Static from resident artists Yudhisthira and our latest signing from Finland, Frosty Fennic. Fans of the legendary computer game “Super Mario Brothers” and popular 1990s TV show “Inspector Gadget” will be pleased to hear catchy themes by Naked Tourist and talented newcomer Phillax from the U.K. We hope you will have lots of fun listening to, dancing to, and playing this small musical gift out loud at parties!

A lot of talent here, but only 1 track I really love… great twilight flavored Eat Static / Frosty Fennic. This is a groovy, deep and replayable tune.

Did not enjoy the Hollywood feeling of the strings and samples in the Phillax tune, though this is a quite detailed and sophisticated track in terms of production. I can’t stand Tim Burton-esque sort of atmospheres.

I love Yudhisthira, Juno Reactor much less so… and I didn’t really think the two groups’ sounds cohered well in the 1st track here. Which elements are from the original and which are new are quite glaringly obvious. The full on bass is thick, but sticks out badly.

Naked Tourist’s “It’s Me Mario” has some clever reworking of the Mario theme song, but is a surprisingly cluttered and noisy tune, not pleasant to the ear. Decent track, but didn’t need to be 10 min, and I didn’t really need another Mario remix. It utlizes many cliches, like playing the ‘level finished’ music when the song ends.

If you ask me the first Revertigo is a lot better. These tunes are memorable but awkward. 3/5

Am I the only one that thinks Phillax’s track is more progressive than full-on?
