Also known from his work as ProSect and Sound Field, Andy Yakovlev AKA Sonify produces deep and funky progressive music that defies strict classification. Described as “Nu-School Psychedelic Funk,” the Sonify project infuses modern electronic dance music with the genuinely old school flavour of funk, electro, and a touch of disco. The Ol’biz EP is the first digital product from N.Division Media, released to promote the launch of andivision.com, Andy’s new web site. Take a trip “back to the old school” with a dose of the Ol’biz!

Slammin’ release! Definitely an artist to keep an ear out for.
Cool release. I enjoy the voice sample work from this artist no matter the style. The first track reminded me of late acid house tunes with the constantly repeating samples and the monotonous approach.
The disco craze is probably my favorite, once again, the voice samples…they are very sweeping and play an important role in the progression of the track. Very upbeat track. (If only I could make out what they say;)

Rub-A-Dub is great funky dubby really rocks, the reast tracks are quite good also! Andy u fucking great producer!

The other two tracks are absolutely brilliant and show a sense of humour as well as looking back to the Old Skool. That falls flat on some people because they’ve become far too serious and gone too far up their own backsides to know what’s good and what’s downright garbage.
Bring some Old Skool elements back into things. They’re fun. This EP shows you that.
High on my list of recommendations!!
