  • Richard says:

Thanks for allowing us to enjoy your work at it’s best quality by offering lossless downloads as well as mp3 – you’ve very obviously put a lot of yourself into the album so we owe it to you to hear it as you intended it to be heard.

That’s one hell of a mature debut… quite some journey, and it’s going to be good to see you develop your ideas still further from such a promising start.

As you’re obviously enjoying it just as much as us, I hope you can make the living you deserve from your hard work.

some nice use of samples to get into theme, but doesn’t deliver much melody. nice artwork and good effort on the mastering from Akhentek.

  • Ahcor says:

    I just find it great

  • Mohebius says:

Machu Picchu is still out there…
    Greate to see things progessing.
Within every evolution lies a revolution.

  • ME says:

So what are “progressive arrangements”? Is it the opposite of old-skool goa arrangements?

  • Xamanist says:

For me “progressive arrangements” are musical stories made by layers, in which we have the feeling of reaching higher, step by step… till the climax in the end.
I don’t think it is the opposite of goa arrangements, as I think old goa uses this kind of arrangements also…
An opposite of it would be fullonish structure, with all its breaks and the feeling of being always high, lacking the flow/trip feeling of oldschool arrangements.
    Hope it helps! Boom

I was very happy to have Basilisk bring a copy of this release to my last gig @ BLA Wednesday’s in Toronto, January 28th. I was able to slide a track in during the middle of my set and really enjoyed the sound on the club system! Seriously awesome production and great flow, thanks Xamanist!

  • Xantus says:

wow, surprising and good! this is what I am looking for. learning from the beginnings of GOA, but with a more modern production. and most importantly not banging you in the face with hi-hat! Basslines that are emotive, don’t sound like they’re droning on and on. can’t wait to play this out :D

  • Xamanist says:

Thank you very much for all comments!
Every comment is important for me, and I’m very glad people are undestanding and liking my music :)

    Big Boom!

  • Xamanist says:

@tiago: Will you book me to play? :) I’ve contacted almost every party promoter in Portugal. Some are interested in my liveact for the near future, others don’t bother with a project that’s not fullon :p

I have my liveact ready and my guitar is on my back :) see you soon on the dancefloor!

  • Dra(ula's Secrets says:

    Wonderful work
U have the spark of the professional in this.
    I really enjoy it.

  • VenusHalley says:

    Amazing! Incredible!!!

this is exactly the music i need for dark, lonely and sleepless nights… it takes one to dimensions previously unknown.

    thank you muchly for this.

  • krinklyfig says:

Excellent. Definitely old school with goa influences, but not at all derivative, and there’s a lot of depth. I really want to hear some of these tracks outside in the middle of the night. Very heady and intricate, but also great dance music, because the trance in the music is allowed to develop for a long time and isn’t interrupted by too many breakdowns. Very nice pulsating bass. Rolling basslines are overrated. So are breakdowns every eight bars. Very glad to hear someone making new music which really lives up to the genre. Hope you make it to the US sometime.

  • Xamanist says:

Thanks for the nice comments! That’s what keeps me going, aside with true love for music and its creation.
    Boom

    really fantastic!

  • GTXVortEX says:

    Dude this is epic.

  • hapek says:

    Fantastic masterpiece ;)

  • PinPinKula says:

Great, just great.. Whats that sample 48 sec into Machu Picchu about reality and, where is it taken from?.. I cant gather one of the words to make a sensible translation.. is it Terence McKenna quote?

  • Xamanist says:

Thanks people, your feedback means a lot to me!
The sample is indeed Terence McKenna, taken from a conference (can’t remember which) as is more or less like this:
“Reality is a very thinly sp… cultural fiction and as long as you stay on mainstream it all holds together pretty well”
The sp.. word I don’t know exactly but take the meaning of “web sowed very thinly and tight”
    Peace!

  • 3dl says:

One new Xamanist track is just about to be released on a new Ektoplazm VA, stay tuned
More music is coming to life in my lab, so expect new tunes this year (not sure yet in what format to release)

  • Superfluid says:

“You do it in darkness, and in silence, and in reverence. You do it on an empty stomach, free from distraction, with attention to breath….Reality is a very thinly spun cultural fiction, and as long as you stay on Main Street it all holds together pretty well.”

Excellent sounds. Great creativity. Great mastering. 5/5

  • Ravindra says:

Thanks. Awesome Album, I love the goa tribal sounds. :) awesome..be well, with metta kindness

  • Great fusion of dark and light sounds. Such a blend results in a perfect psychedelic experience. This inspires me to make a trippy video for this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1uuhknuzvd8 morphing and changing like these sounds.
    Keep on stomping
