Bassid

Bassid is the project of Bas van Driel, from Gronigen in the north of Holland. After years of experience playing keyboards in local bands and exploring many forms of electronic music, Bas set out to forge a distinct and original style of psychedelic trance. Bassid’s productions are funky, melodic, uplifting, full of groovy rhythms, and loaded with pumping bass lines. Seeking to explore every facet of the human mind through music, Bas intends to “shift perspectives” in the minds of his listeners, writing songs designed to elicit a complex emotional response. With every composition the mission is to “bring you good vibes and a great dance-experience!”

Thus far, Bas has released a vinyl single with Crotus—the Rise & Shine EP—as well as a 15 minute epic entitled Sunset Trip on the debut compilation from Sunlight Records. Recently Bassid’s style has been drifting deeper into progressive sounds; look forward to new productions coming out in 2008 and beyond!
