Crossing Mind is a respected Goa trance producer based in the southern Alps above Nice, France. This year he will be playing at Boom Festival 2016 at the Dance Temple stage on August 14th, 15:00, between Tsuyoshi Suzuki and Filteria. To give you a taste of what this man can deliver on stage Suntrip Records released this live performance from their 10th birthday party in Antwerp, Belgium, on April 30th, 2014. It contains eight live edits of released tracks, and two early versions of tracks from his forthcoming album, Beyond Duality, to be released on Suntrip in September 2016. Crossing Mind’s live gear is unusual: he plays with a tablet plugged to an external sound card and running a bunch of audio apps. Be prepared for serious mind twisting psychedelia at Boom; click and see for yourself! All tracks written and produced by Stéphane Bèze AKA Crossing Mind. Mastering by Crossing Mind. Artwork by Fabien Mars @ Suntrip. Released in 2016 by Suntrip Records with the support of Fractal Gate.

DJ Basilisk serves up a sizzling blend of neotrance, melodic techno, and progressive psytrance with Earthfest 2015, recorded live in the mountains of central Taiwan. This set showcases a lot of material from the Ektoplazm web site, particularly from the Digital Diamonds netlabel, as well as three unreleased tunes destined for Ben Rama’s newly minted imprint, Techgnosis Records. Recorded mostly live at Earthfest 2015 in Nantou, Taiwan. Due to technical issues with the original recording the last third of the mix was re-recorded at Head Shop Studios II, Zhongli, Taiwan. Depicted in the artwork is the actual stage design this set was played on.

Blacklight Metropolis is DJ Basilisk’s contribution to the fifth edition of Global Goa Party, a virtual event organized by Marsh at the Goatranch to simulate an entire night of music from the early years of the psychedelic trance movement. This time around the year is 1997 and the golden age of Goa trance is in full swing, blasting revelers into limitless dimensions of sound with scintillating kaleidoscopic sounds and twisted techno-shamanistic rhythms. Reprising the nocturnal explorations of Moonshadow and In Exile, this expertly mixed collection of mind-bending classics explores the darker side of the genre while journeying through the deepest part of night from 1:30 to 3:30am. Dedicated to Black Light Activists (BLA), one of Toronto’s pioneering psytrance organizers, and Mark at Metropolis Records, the shop where I bought my first psytrance records. Recorded at Head Shop Studios, Changhua City, Taiwan, with Traktor 1.1.1 and a battered old Korg Nanokontrol. Vintage analog photography and digital design by Basilisk.

This set was recorded live at Spacecamp Psyfari in Iowa, USA, on the morning of August 24th, 2014, featuring 100% Creative Commons-licensed music from Ektoplazm. I began at sunrise, transitioning from a night of hard and heavy hi-tech into full-on psychedelic morning trance by the very end, touching on darkpsy, forest, twilight, new school Goa trance, and a hint of Suomi-style madness along the way. As always this set was completely unscripted, a product of the moment. I let intuition be my guide and this adventurous romp through the many styles of upbeat psytrance is the result!
