Soundmute Recordings recently released this promotional video for Deep Downstairs, the title track from the latest EP by Cold Project, a South African techtrance group. Not sure if the animations are original but they suit the track in a cheeky way.

Trance Visuals has a rather nice Youtube channel featuring several high-quality VJ demos. Here is one set to the tune of Spanish Gypsy, a song from the album Psychedelica Melodica by Cosmosis, who describes it as a “weird musical synthesis of Goa, Psytrance, Flamenco, and the Paso Doble.”

While scanning Youtube for classic psytrance tracks I turned up an incredibly ancient relic: the video for Koxbox – Birdy (also known as Pipfugl), dated 1993. It really doesn’t get much older than this!

VJ Mediavictim has assembled a tight little documentary on the visual setups of Entheos (see my photos of the event) and Burn In The Forest, two festivals held on the same piece of land in Squamish River Valley, B.C., earlier this year.
