Just to say you should AVOID new Psychaos Album : "Cause And Effect"... after having listened to 3 Psychaos Singles (Intellect, Dense Dawn and Keyboard Widow), I thought his tracks were ALWAYS great, so I bought his album with closed eyes ... and it is SHIT !!!!!! It more sounds like commercial techno than Goa !!!VERY repetitive ... the 9 tracks are very similar and it gives me a headache each time I listen to this album ! VERY BAD WAY PSYCHAOS :-(((

Starchild Rec keeps surprising me everyday.I first heard Starchild`s first release,the tripout,about 6 months ago and it totally captured the morning goa sounds being popularized in Israel and spreading all throughout Europe,now Starchild has proven that they can hang with the changing paces of psychedelic trance."SONIC MASSAGE",mixed by BARAKA(Return to the Source resident),leans towards the night side of trance...These are the type of tunes you hear in the peak of the night..We are talking heavy loud and pounding tribal beats and anthems..The album is laid out in a way that is best appreciated if listened in one sitting..When Ifirst stumbled across this CD I just skipped through the tunes and was amazed.The only flaw was that the beginning tracks were a little weak and some tracks seemed to be fillers and did not stand very well on their own.But this is a mixed CD.So when I sat down and listened to this in its entirety wand I was BLOWN away Very intelligent format indeed.We start off with a new act from Manchester,In Ka,setting the mood for the album.The track got me anticipated of what was to come...a perfect intro track...the bass is weak and it takes a while to get kicking,but that`s the pure genius of the track when it does kick in,you start dancing like a mad man....anticipation=the key to a perfect starting track...moving right along to the more intense track crystal by insect,increased my panic and had me nervously dancing around my living room!Then we blow right into subcouds` global village which features heavy punding beats with a melodic middle eastern type feel to itGlobal Village starts teh melody of the CD...you see how this mix CD is more like one big track.The heavy dark,but uplifting trance continues with the brilliantly executed shakti track,Moon Palace.It`s the first tune on the CD that really stands out as a single,and then Baraka uses Mindfield`s VD Massacre as a bridge to the more funky quite "quirky" Quixotic 32 bit priest which explodes into mayhem b4 the spacey earie CHI AD track Omega 12(a great tune,the 2nd high point of the album)gets our blood pumping again anticipating the heaviest beats I`ve ever heard in Filthy Beast`s,De Generate.this song is hard and HEAVY.My vision was blurred from the bass of the tune..The final track Shudder,encompasses the whole damn mix in one song..A true journey of sound..Probably the best composed and produced track of the CD.After listening to this CD,I had to take a cold shower because it really got my head spinning.Starchild took a big risk with these unknown acts and it really paid of big time!Buy this record!Intelligent listening at its best.(check Starchild`s site:www.regener8.com)

It is not quite my favourite but i would recommend you to buy "Shiva Shidapu - The Light of Shidapu".Well what is so special about this one...what attracted me to this album is that, this album is done in old melodical (that we are all hungry of) style.It is one full of melodies album, in the sea of (grrr) dark and minimal goa albums...I think that GOA will soon be gone if that minimal style what "GOA should be"...that is crap people started listening to GOA music couse they liked positive energy and spirit that GOA brought to us by it's fast uplifting and never stoping melodies. Don't get me wrong.It doesn't mean that dark and minimal goa shouldn't be listened and produced any more...I just want to put back "old scene spirit" ON again. This is subject of great importance, goa music may die if we don't give what they wan't to listen. Greetings from Serbia...we would really like to see some artists or DJ's playing some trance here.

CAFEDELIC's New CD Is Java for the Soul (www.mp3.com/cafedelic for a free mp3 file download) Raving never caught on in North America with the same intensity as in the U.K. or the rest of Europe. So, it's no surprise that trance also arrived late in the United States. When trance finally did make the scene in the late 1990s, it was mostly thanks to U.K. super spinners such as Oakenfold, Sasha and Digweed, who introduced pumping bass lines and layered synth stacks to U.S. clubbers at venues like New York's Twilo. Despite the slow uptake, the U.S. music underground has embraced trance with passion. The big clubs in NY, South Beach and LA all spin at least one trance set a night to help clubbers chill out before heading home. The big music chains such as Sam Goody and Tower stock imports from British techno labels such as Ministry of Sound and Global Underground. And any Napster search will yield a motherload of trance artists -- Robert Miles, Chicane, Energy 52, Art of Trance, Future Sounds of London, Pete Lazonby, Paul Van Dyk -- waiting to be mined on American hard drives while thousands of new trance compositions are uploaded each week to legit Internet music sites such as MP3.COM and E-MUSIC.COM. True, many homegrown U.S. trance projects are painfully derivative -- offering endless and amateurish reworkings of European trance pioneers like Underground, Faithless, Age of Love and, of course, Energy 52. But there are exceptions. One is 303Infinity, a veteran techno/trance project from Texas whose 303-bass sound has clocked more than four-million mp3 downloads since 1996. Then there is Cafedelic, perhaps the most promising -- and certainly the most original -- of a new breed of U.S. musicians working at the outer limits of melodic trance. Cafedelic's first CD, "Expresso," made its debut in December, 2000, with an inspired blend of Scots-Irish instruments and melodies with silky liquid-trance and Euro-dance beats. Cafedelic brings an entirely fresh approach to melodic trance -- sometimes by pushing a few of the unspoken rules of club-music composition to the breaking point. Just listen to Cafedelic's "Long-Legged Girls" which somehow seamlessly blends a traditional Irish love song -- played on other-worldly flutes and harps -- with a thumping Euro-dance drum and bass line, complete with snare-filled breakbeats. Or Cafedelic's most popular song so far, a romantic trancer called "Pretty Girl" which combines a melody you'll be humming in the shower for days with a languid drum and bassline recalling the days of XTC and trip hop. The operative word here is "listen." The trouble with trance is that once you take it out of dance club and put it on a stereo or mp3 player -- there often isn't all that much to hear. Just big programmed bass lines, pulsing synth stacks and few special effects. Not so with Cafedelic. On tracks like "Tangerine Trance," "Pint 'O Harp," "Caveau Hot," and "Happy Girl Groove," Cafedelic's incisive melody lines and quirky psychedelic flourishes make for a compelling listen. "Expresso" is the kind of CD you CAN listen to again, and again, and again. And it's not half bad for dancing either. You might even call it a necessary addition to any DJ's club kit. You must listen to...more and more of selected Finnish stuff. Finland is a very weird psy-country cause there is so much good mucis comming down from up here. But also very much of shit music...maybe too much. But anyway ther a some artists like for example Haltya, Kiwa, salakavala, Pelinpala, outolintu who make realy inspiring psy music. Especially the Haltya Forest Flavour album i can recomend to anybody anywhere. Itīs the most psychedelies album out there so far...very out there. Listne to it a home or in the forests, on finnish liberty caps and youīll know what i mean. Hopefully there will be more and more cool music following cause the psy world is kind of dead right now, and i know you know what i mean.. Buy your own music! donīt allways just copie it!!!
