It really is phosphorescent! Check it out!

What we think of it...

This is f..n great!! The Best compilation from TiP???

I'm surprised this hasn't turned up here by now. Anyway, this is very good indeed, I'd recommend it to anyone who wants really psychedelic trance rather than 'happy dancy stuff'. I don't want to write a whole review of this though, that's left up to someone else... ...Nick

What can I say .? Storming. Paradigm-shifting. Music for the mind and for the body, all at once. This is what I show the heretics who can't believe in originality in dance music.

This really is a very trippy album, with lots of wierd and bouncy effects to keep those ear drums occupied. Only one track here can be described as straight-foward trance which is Doof's "People in UFOs." I knew that "alien homes" (Orichalcum) would come in for criticism because it is a bit barmy, but i actually like it for originality, but i also liked "Wicked Mille"...so hmm I would say that Orichalcum need to cut their tracks by about 2 minutes and beef up the tunes a bit. Their tracks are empty sounding apart from the wierd blips. Other efforts by X-Dream, The Infinity Project, and Hallucinogen's "Gamma Goblins" are ones to look out for - very deep and dark trance. Be warned though, don't buy this album expecting manic and screechy acid, cos you won't get it. Instead, expect lot's of psychedelic, heavily phased stuff, and it's great!!!!!

stands atop the mountains of psytrnace long with the other three TIP comps. phosphorescent took the best of what was new when it was released (it's been out for a while now) and made them better by putting them all together on this great compilation. it is dark, and winding, and uplifting. watch out for the evil clown music on simon posford's 'gamma goblins'. you'll never go to a circus again. jason (doesn't the start of that song by hallucinogen sound like the theme song for some killer clown. bozo on crystal meth:) i'm a loser.....

Oh my God!!!! This album is brilliant!!! Soothsayer is one of the most stunning tracks I have ever heard. Simon Posford is at the pinnacle of psy trance. It just doesn't get much better than this. X-Dream also produce a stomping track with Panic In Paradise. I actually really like the Alien Homes track. It's very wierd and trippy...makes me feel like I've dropped (;) by an alien friend's place to listen to some tunes. TIP also produce a great track and The Antidote's Sunrise is beautiful. What can I say? If you don't listen to it loud, you won't get it, but crack it up with some headphones or even better, a good stereo so you get down when this record does.... =) I love it! P.S. Those killer clowns are great. Verrry trrriiiiipyyyyy.

This album has the subtlety that rapes your mind and send you into a different realm. A little acid tune in psychopod and antidote but the others work on you like a true psychedelia should . Nothing but praises for this album. Can't wait for Tip 3D.

Consistent flow of excellent tunes and psychedelic sounds, whether it is the *best* TIP compilation I suppose is mainly a matter of techno-style opinion, but I can definately not blame anyone for thinking so..

the antidote aka total eclipse has their 11 minute long track sunrise on this comp, and that should be reason enough to get phosphorescent :) (btw, the cover is really phosphorescent too :)

YES! YES! YES! This is what trance is all about. A fabulously psychadelic and powerfull compilation, lot's of power in every track (Gamma Goblins is one of the ultimate trance tracks to date). Surprisingly nonlinear and extremely original, containing sounds that are simple and powerfull enough for cubs, and make you move every time you hear it, and intelligent enough and interesting enough for you to hear it in home. Simon (hallucinogenius) Posford shows the world once more his versatility and brilliance, side to side with fabulous tracks by X-Dream, Orichalcum, and The Antidote. in one word - WOW.

YO!! The first TIP I bought was the Orange. I thout that was the best album I'd ever heard. Then I bought Phosphorescent, and couldn't belive my ears. I was in an other dimention. I listened to it over and over, and got bored with it. I don't agree that this is the best album ever any more. Orange and not to speek about the Yello is in my opinion better. I hope it will grow up on me again, but it's down there now. The first two times I heard Sunrise I thought I had an really long orgasm. Then I thought it was the main theme for a program at the Childrens Channel. T.I.P. and Simon are allways great though. I hope I don't spoil your evening. But I can't lie, can I.

the antidote rules and as for people who say that this is TOO PSYCHEDELIC (is there such a thing?) i suggests you look for The Carpenters next time you are in a record shop.

Don't know what you are talking about Anon. If I don't focus Sunrise gets me, but if I focus it sounds...? Hallucinogen really rules! (difficult focusing:) Effect

My opinion...Phosphoresent is the best TIP comp yet. Hallucinogens Soothsayer is awesome, dark and scary. X-dream's classic stomper-panic in paradise makes dancefloors explode. great!<-------HION

The Antidotes 'Sunrise' has possibly the most beautiful and emotional melody I have ever heard in a psy trance track, this cd is worth buying for this song alone. X-Dreams 'Panic in Paradise' is another track to check out, full-on, spacey and dark.

After listening to Yellow compilation, I think this is TIP's second best compilation. Overall this CD is faster paced than Yellow. The best track is X-Dream's "Panic in Paradise". Very moving, well meshed, organized sounds. The two tracks I cannot stand are Hallucinogen's "Soothsayer" and "Gamma Goblins". Why is that I can simply detect ANY Halluciogen's tracks even if I hear it for the first time or even guess them blind-folded. ALL of his tracks sound the same! "Soothsayer"'s background sound sample sounds like it's borrowed from "Space Pussy". Am I right or wrong? Overall, it's a very good compliation. 8.5 out of 10 from me.

Great musics. It reminds me the best parts of the "Rave Mission" or " Ravermeister" series form Germany, all putted together in one single CD. Congratulations for TIP Records.

very, very tasty cd indeed. Especially love Psychopod and T.I.P tracks. Sunrise is an excellent selection for the 'come-down' track, beautiful melodies and just keeps scrolling on. the X-Dream track made me think of AP's Dancing Galaxy, (they certainly mix together well) Another first class release from Tip, does anyone know where to find the original mix of Soothsayer?

Pez, the original (ten fucking times better than the remix) is on TIP Singles 2. Its one of my all time fav Hallucinogen tracks along with Shamanix (both orig and remix) and Angelic Particles. Bought Phosphorescent a couple day back and haven't gotten around to listening to it till now as I type. And as of track 4, the first track is my fav. Blue still reigns as my fav TIP though.

Good compilation. The Orichalcum tune sounds like aliens visiting prehistoric cavemen. Very good OUTDOOR track which might sound annoying to someones ear. Excellent start with "Gamma Goblins" by Hallucinogen and perfect ending with "Sunrise" by The Antidote.

I reviewed this record here about 3 years ago (p6a64). The problem with a lot of dance music is that it sounds out of date very quickly, and for me this is one of the few psy records that has stood the test of time.
