Magic & Witchcraft represents a modern revival of the mystical and otherworldly qualities of mid-nineties Goa trance. Behind this project is Pauli Komonen, an electronic music producer previously known from his work with Poly 61, a Goa trance group that amassed a cult following in the early years of the millennium. Since then, Pauli has explored industrial, deep techno, and psychedelic trance while developing his own personal style. Hallucinogen, Juno Reactor, X-Dream, Tim Schuldt, Ticon, Vangelis, Front Line Assembly, Depeche Mode, and Basic Channel are just a few of the artists mentioned as influencing the sound of the Magic & Witchcraft project.

Aside from producing music, Pauli has also worked as a freelance journalist and sound engineer. Presently he studies sociology and anthropology at the University of Helsinki while living in nearby Vantaa, Finland.
