Shūmatsu No Tani (終末の谷; “The Valley of the End”) is the third album written and produced by French musician Nibana. This double CD-length album features 18 tracks divided into two distinct parts, one driven by psychedelic ambient and downtempo influences, while the other explores sonic territory closer to bass music, glitch-hop, and psystep. From the artist: “My goal was to create a self-released and completely free digital album, free of any labels and any fences, evolving from my roots (the album Ask The Universe) to newer horizons among the bass music scene.” Many influences can be heard on Nibana’s new album as well as allusions to some of his favorite producers in the bass music scene such as Tipper, Whitebear, Koan Sound, Suduaya, Solar Fields, and more. Mastered by Storm Mastering with graphic design by ElohProjects.

Track 11 contains sound from the movie Office Space. Is this legal? Some of the other tracks contain voice, too, but I have no idea where those come from.

  • Nibana says:

As soon as it’s free, it is legal. No profit, no worries (except for paying the bills).

  • shaligram says:

    JUST listen – and don´t “THINK” ;-)

  • shaligram says:

I listen to it very carefully (twice a time!) …. SORRY … it´s nothing SPECIAL :-(

  • kolam says:

Nibana sounds like a very eclectic artist, producing in various style, but always with the same passion and researchs about music expression. Music is a self expression, and nibana has his own feeling of what producing is. I’m pretty sure he’ll take time until publishing his next release, and I think that’s a good point because researches of music expression is one of the point that inspires many differents artists to go beyond what has been already made. Congratz!

  • Amano Khambata says:

pure expansion of consciousness. a new paradigm in sound design. nibana and basilisk are creatively involved in the evolution of the sapien into the noeticus. this is shape of things to come. this is transformation in real time and a ticket to the next dimension. a world without war and pollution. nature restores through healing sound as the love within is made audible. this is presentiment of a future both green and serene. may the spirit hidden in this music guide us to actualize earthly paradise and restore nature as we heal our separation from the earth and her rhythms .

What’s with all those lame comments and free downvotes, if you don’t like it then pass your way, production is the shiznit, don’t act like Yelp music critics just because Ektoplazm gave you a voting and comment section, this is a free music website made by passionated people, at least respect that.

Killer release by the way, I’m digging the CD2 ! Always happy to see artists going out of their comfort zone and pushing creativity forward !

  • I haven’t written a review in a long time on here, but I just couldn’t avoid this one.

My review for Nibana: Shūmatsu No Tani

The emotional intensities of Nibana’s deep and colorful universe are nothing short from profound in this multi-genre, psychedelic release, Shūmatsu No Tani. Offering an intimate connection into another realm, the intelligent innovations of musical craftsmanship can be explored vividly on a magnificent, two-hour adventure. As the dramatic sound of his latest masterpiece unfolds, vibrating beneath layers of complex melodies and detailed synth structures, a mystical dimension of breathtaking adventure is clear like thousands of stars shining over an ancient and mystical world… with a large touch of earth-shattering bass. Inspired from the heartwarming soundscapes of Solar Fields and the boundary-breaking reaches of bass music masters like Tipper and Whitebear, Nibana and a couple of other talented producers have created something for the history books with this captivating release. It is a mind-expanding dive into gooey psydub, intricate downtempo, and other electronica orchestrations impressively spread across both psytrance and ambient soundscapes. Prepare to be carried through a progressive, beautiful story told through sound, for it will likely be one of the best albums 2017 has to offer.

    10/10

  • Also, if you enjoyed this album as much as I did, you can purchase a limited physical edition over at band camp. I just grabbed myself a copy.

Come on guys 13k downloads on a release like this and we can’t even reach 500$ a month to support this site ?

Honnestly for what it’s worth since my discovery of this wonderfull website in 2016 i have downloaded no less that 700 releases for free. And i’m still at page 275 of 391. So i don’t know you but i’m subscribing for as long as my credit card will live.

Yes 1$ a month is not much but if u all do the same i think it will help Mr Alexander a lot, and don’t forget about the soundmakers.

Have a good day and enjoy the psychedelics just the way u want to.

  • Yomate says:

Dont know if Ask The Universe was so Unique or just the No Tani is not so good by it self. Nice job eitherway.

Bro. I have heard 1 other album from u before and i friggin loved it.
Now i found this and i read the comments and was really confused, because some said the album is nothing special.
I never heard it but i thought.. if this man made the album “ask the universe” this album CANT be bad.

I started and at first it was good but it was not hooking me up directly..
but after a couple songs u sucked me into it and i was baffled about the pure power and dedication i hear in youre music.
This style is completely unique and absolutely addicting.
Man ur a luminary in this genre of music.
Absolutely blasting me and also touching my heart.
Love u, big thanks for that!

P.S. when i have more money in my pocket, i will gift u some for sure!
Hope i see u on a festival some day!
    With love, Max.
